General Information - MissionExpo is an event designed to equip and encourage local churches for ministry. It is organized and led by local churches and is therefore dependent upon the energy of hundreds of volunteers to be successful. Volunteer opportunities are available for teenagers to seniors. You may choose to work a single one hour or two hour shift, or multiple shifts. Please see our Volunteer Brochure or Volunteer Information Sheet for more details. There are 16 different areas for you to serve in and choose from including helping with children, seminar hosting, on-site office help, ushering, and prayer room volunteers. VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
ATTENDANCE COUNTER: Assist in providing general count of those attending various conference sessions (will work with ushers and seminar hosts).
CHILDREN (preschool): Assist with children's ministry (ages 2-5). Sessions will be taught by missionary leaders.
CHILDREN (grades 6-12): Assist with children's ministry, grades 1-6. Sessions will be taught by missionary leaders.
FACILITIES: Assist with logical needs such as room and exhibit hall set-up and attendance.
INFORMATION HOST: Assist those attending with general information and directions.
MOVE-IN/MOVE-OUT: Help exhibitions and MissionExposure office move in on Friday morning (7-11 am) & move out Sunday evening (6-9pm).
ON-SITE OFFICE: Assist the on-site office by providing general information, answering phones, assisting agencies, and giving directions. (2 hour shifts)
PRAYER TEAM: Join in praying for the conference, speakers, and seminar hosts (1/2 hour, 1 hour or 2 hour shifts during the conference).
SEMINAR HOST: Meet with seminar presenter before session. Introduce and thank the presenter, record attendance and collect seminar evaluations.
USHER: During general sessions, assist with seating, help with offering, and be available for the (1 1/2 to 2 hour) session.
PARKING LOT ATTENDANT: During general sessions, Patrol the church parking lot, and be available for the (1 1/2 to 2 hour) session.
NURSERY WORKER: During general sessions, assist in the nursery, and be available for the (1 1/2 to 2 hour) session.
*CHURCH ADVOCATE: During the year, keep your church informed on MissionExpo and encouraged to attend.
*TELEPHONING: Be part of a team which makes reminder calls to churches and volunteers or verifying information (can be done from your home).
