Dear Partners,

Mike and Becky Mann and their Missionary Partnership Team (MPT) wish to thank you for your faithful support. How exciting it is to see what they have achieved over the last 20 years in Thailand, while directing the Integrated Tribal Development Program (ITDT) program. Yes, it was 20 years in May since their ministry in Thailand began. As of this time, 50,000 villagers and their children have clean running water come directly to their villages. What a blessing God provides for his people through these dedicated missionaries. Other accomplishments can be seen in their March Newsletter.

Dear partners, even though the ITDP program has benefitted thousands of Hill Tribe Villagers in Northern Thailand, the Mann’s personal support has seriously fallen behind. At this time, this shortage amounts to $1455 per month. Mike, Becky and the children’s personal support includes; a living allowance, medical, retirement, rent, college and elementary school costs.

Obviously several things have combined to weaken support for missions: first, International Ministries (IM) continues the transition from a centralized missionary support model to an MPT-based personalized support model. Also, at the same time, our economy has been passing through a severe recession.

As of today, support is at 67.4% of what Mike and Becky need. IM requires that this number be 80% by the end of September 2011. To see where they currently stand (IM’s measure of sustainable support) you can go to their web page at http://www.internationalministries.org/missionaries/352

The 67.4% calculation above reflects current committed recurring gifts. Mike and Beck need supporters who can commit to provide ongoing gifts for their mission as “targeted giving”. These gifts need to be given on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly or annually). Mike and Becky will be coming home in 2012 for home assignment. They will not be able to return to the field unless their support is at 100% of their personal support goal. What a tragedy this would be for the villagers in Thailand as well as for the ministry as a whole!
